Yeovil's lead at the top of League Two is down to three points after they lost at Darlington.

The Glovers went down 2-1 at The Williamson Motors Stadium as Darlington continued their push for a play-off spot.

Former Ajax and Leeds star Clyde Wijnhard gave The Quakers the lead after 13 minutes.

The home side doubled their lead on the hour with Alun Armstrong (pictured) finding the back of the net.

Darren Way gave Yeovil some hope with his goal nine minutes from time, but even Wijnhard's dismissal a few minutes later could not inspire Gary Johnson's side.

Scunthorpe took advantage of Yeovil's slip-up as they cruised to a 4-1 win over Cheltenham at Glanford Park.

Matt Sparrow grabbed two goals either side of the interval (44 & 55) which sandwiched a leveller from Jamie Victory.

The Iron left it late to confirm victory, but they did so in emphatic fashion as Richard Kell (85) and Cliff Byrne (90) struck.

Macclesfield Town moved into the top three after a 1-0 win at Shrewsbury with John Miles grabbing the winner ten minutes from time.

The Silkmen moved above Southend, after they were held to a 1-1 draw by Lincoln at Roots Hall.

Ben Futcher looked to have given The Red Imps victory when he scored on 87 minutes, but Fredy Eastwood's late penalty made sure the home side took a share of the spoils.

Swansea remain in fifth after sharing four goals and two red cards with Rochdale at The Vetch Field.

Grant Holt fired Dale ahead on 31 minutes, before Lee Trundle and Paul Tait both saw red within a minute of each other for bad fouls.

Within a minute of the restart Andy Gurney levelled for Swansea and soon after Holt put through his own net to give the home side the lead.

The Swans looked destined for victory until the final minute when Rickie Lambert struck.

Northampton dropped out of the play-offs after losing their local derby with Rushden & Diamonds 3-2.

Rushden went ahead after just seven minutes through Peter Hawkins, but Northampton found themselves in front thanks to goals from Martin Smith (45) and debutant Andy Kirk (52).

Drewe Broughton restored parity on the hour with a penalty, before Billy Sharp grabbed the winner on the stroke of full time.

The win means Rushden keep their four-point gap from the bottom two, while also closing to within two points of Chester who are above them.

That is because Chester went down 4-2 at Wycombe - who are now on the edge of a play-off spot and are only seventh on goal difference.

Michael Branch had put Chester ahead, but Wycombe soon took control of affairs.

Nathan Tyson fired a brace (43 & 52) before Gus Uhlenbeek and Roger Johnson scored just before the hour.

Branch grabbed a second from the penalty spot two minutes from time, but that was a mere consolation.

The 1-1 draw in the Lincolnshire derby at York Street did neither Boston nor Grimsby much good.

Both sides continue to harbour hopes of a play-off spot, but neither could earn a crucial three points.

Boston got off to a flying start when Daryl Clare pounced against his former club in the first minute.

On-loan star Matt Harrold levelled on 69 minutes to give Grimsby a point.

Bottom-of-the table Cambridge are now eight points adrift, despite sealing a 1-1 draw at Leyton Orient.

Matt Lockwood opened the scoring (72), but Tes Bramble soon levelled on his debut for The U's.

Second from bottom Kidderminster are still four points off safety but their 3-1 win at Notts County will really bolster their morale.

Dean Keates fired home twice from the spot (76 & 86) and County keeper Saul Deeney saw red for the second incident.

Mark Stallard pulled one back (88) for the home side, but Chris Beardsley restored the two-goal margin on the stroke of full time.

Oxford banished any fears they could yet get dragged into relegation trouble thanks to a 3-1 win at Mansfield.

Steve Basham (7) opened the scoring before a brace from Chris Hackett (33 & 52).

Colin Larkin (90 pen) added a late consolation for Mansfield.

Bury avoided defeat thanks to a late equaliser against Bristol Rovers at Gigg Lane.

Craig Disley (30) had put The Pirates ahead, but Simon Whaley (78) gave The Shakers a point.
