Luton boss Mick Harford has denied rumours that the club are set to sign Peterborough defender Claude Gnapka.

The Frenchman is out of contract in the summer and reports had linked the 24-year-old with a move to Kenilworth Road.

"I've seen him play lots of times. He is a good player. We are just scouting and watching games," Harford told The Luton News.

"He played against our reserves. There are a lot of players that impress."

The Hatters manager is on the lookout for new players after announcing his entire squad was available for transfer after their relegation to League Two.

Bonus

Harford has been boosted, meanwhile, by the news that the club have earned a £250,000 bonus following West Brom's promotion to the top-flight.

Leon Barnett moved to West Brom last summer for an initial £2.5million but after Tony Mowbray's side won the Championship this season the Hatters will receive the extra cash.

Luton remain in administration as they wait for the Football League to approve their takeover by the LTFC2020 consortium.

Albion have also had to shell out £250,000 to Sheffield Wednesday and Manchester City after they signed Chris Brunt and Ishmael Miller.
