Calderwood: On the look out

Nottingham Forest manager Colin Calderwood is keen to bring a new goalkeeper to The City Ground this summer.

Calderwood wants to provide competition for places for the No.1 jersey, which is currently occupied by Paul Smith, as Forest prepare for next season in the Championship.

The Scot believes Forest will require more experience between the sticks if they are to survive in the second tier of English football.

"I think it's something we've got to look at," Calderwood told Forest's official website.

"We've got Paul Smith and three youngsters - Dale Roberts, Paddy Gamble and Shane Redmond," he told the club's official website.

"We'll need a more experienced goalkeeper to a degree and we need someone to put Paul under a little bit more pressure.

"He was very calm and has done his job extremely well but we would probably start next season with a goalkeeper on the bench."
