Ellison: Set for move

Stockport look set to sign striker Kevin Ellison after Chester owner Stephen Vaughan confirmed they 'will not stand in his way' should he want to leave.

The 29-year-old was City's top scorer last season with 11 goals and also attracted interest from Wrexham and Darlington.

The Hatters' latest offer is believed to be in the region of £35,000 but is well below what Chester paid Tranmere for the left-winger in the summer of 2007.

"We've had an offer from Stockport County for Kevin Ellison and, as we've said on previous occasions, we never stand in a player's way if they can move to a club in a higher division," Chester owner Stephen Vaughan told the Chester Chronicle.

Lowe move

Vaughan also revealed the club are hoping to re-sign former striker Ryan Lowe from Crewe.

"Ryan Lowe is a target for Chester City.

"We're interested in signing him, but he's got to sort out a settlement with Crewe before anything can happen."
