Lea: Impressed Adkins
Scunthorpe have completed the signing of former Manchester United defender Michael Lea.
The 20-year-old has been on trial with the League One club for the past month and impressed manager Nigel Adkins during pre-season training and in recent friendlies against Doncaster and Brigg Town.
The youngster has penned a one-year deal at Glanford Park with the option of a further 12 months should the club wish to extend his stay.
He becomes the Iron's fourth signing of the summer and will be hoping to make an immediate impact in the first team.
He failed to make the grade at Old Trafford despite progressing through the Red Devils' youth ranks, and his only taste of regular competitive action to date came last season during a loan spell at Royal Antwerp.
