Cox: In-form
Swindon Town hotshot Simon Cox is willing to see what options are available to him in January, after his recent form has earned him interest from Premier League clubs.
The 21-year-old former Reading hitman has been in prolific form of late and won the League One Player of the Month award for October.
A host of clubs are now checking on Cox and he is now waiting to see what will happen in the future.
"I'd have to consider all the options available to me really, but it wouldn't just be my decision, as obviously the two clubs have to come to a decision first and then it's down to me and my family to consider it," he told skysports.com
"If it gives me the chance to better myself then I'd be mad not to take it."
The Robins parted company with former manager Maurice Malpas last week and Cox was disappointed to see the Scotsman leave the County Ground.
"The signs were probably on the wall when we went out in the cup really, but it has got nothing to do with us and we just have to get on with our job, under the new management and continue to do as well as we can.
"I was disappointed to see him leave because he brought me in from Reading and gave me the chance to play football on a regular basis, so it's hard for me, but I have to more on from that."
Caretaker manager David Byrne has expressed his desire to take over the reins on a full-time basis, but Cox does not mind which man is given the job of succeeding Malpas.
He said: "We know Budgie really well and he was here under Paul Sturrock and Maurice, but we'll play for any manager, whether it's promoting from within or someone from the outside. I'm sure we can do better than we did for whoever comes in than we did under Maurice."
