Oldham boss John Sheridan has been handed a two-match touchline ban by the Football Association.

The Latics chief faced the governing body's disciplinary commission on Thursday, where he was given the sentence.

The charge relates to a breach of FA rules regarding improper conduct, after Sheridan was sent to the stands during his side's 1-0 win at Tranmere on 6th September.

The Boundary Park supreme, who was represented by the League Managers' Association during his personal hearing, was also fined £500.

Assistant manager Tommy Wright took training in Sheridan's absence, and will be charged with relaying messages to the players during the manager's forthcoming suspension.
