Oldham Athletic striker Matty Wolfenden could face a further two months on the sidelines.

Wolfenden has endured an injury-plagued campaign to date and missed the start of the season with a knee injury.

He has been restricted to just one first-team appearance this term as a substitute in the FA Cup first-round replay against Cheltenham Town last month.

And his prospects of forcing his way back into John Sheridan's plans have been hit by an ankle injury picked up in a recent reserve game.

The 21-year-old has suffered suspected ligament damage, with the Latics confirming Wolfenden could be out for up to two months depending upon the outcome of the test results.
