Oldham Athletic have recalled Craig Davies from the striker's loan spell at Stockport County.

Davies has scored six goals in 13 appearances for Stockport since linking up with Oldham's League One rivals in November.

He was due to return to Boundary Park this weekend, but has been recalled as Stockport are not in action on Saturday.

The forward is now available for Oldham's game against Huddersfield Town and Latics boss John Sheridan admits Davies is in contention to play.

"Craig can join us for the trip to the Galpharm Stadium seeing as Stockport have no game," Sheridan told the club's official website.

"He is in good form at the moment and his loan spell has worked out well for both parties.

"That's what loan deals are all about - getting players fit and bringing them back into form. We can use Craig Davies in our squad against Huddersfield Town."
