Stockport County have confirmed that they have received no offers for their manager Jim Gannon.

Gannon, who enjoyed 10 years as a player at Edgeley Park and is the third highest appearance maker for the club, has been linked with the vacant manager's posts at Championship sides Charlton and Blackpool in recent weeks.

The 40-year-old has made a big impact in the three years he has been at the helm at County after he was appointed caretaker manager towards the end of 2005 with the club stranded at the bottom of League Two.

Gannon was soon appointed full-time and led the club to safety before turning the club around to achieve promotion to League One last season via the play-offs.

Although the club maintain that no club have approached them for their manager's services, County chairman Martin Reid admitted that he would not stand in his way should the opportunity to manage at a higher level arise.

"Jim deserves the compliment of being associated with available jobs," he told the club's official website.

"As a club Stockport County would support him wholeheartedly in securing a move which his achievements merit.

"However, Jim remains County manager. He is fully committed and has a comprehensive plan to remain competitive in League One and help take the club forward in these challenging financial times."
