A number of League Two sides are battling it out to sign Carlisle striker Danny Carlton, skysports.com understands.

Carlisle are willing to loan out Carlton for the second half of the season so that he can get valuable first-team action under his belt.

Carlton has only recently returned from a loan spell at former club Morecambe where he scored two goals during his month at Christie Park and news of his availability has alerted a host of sides.

Morecambe are keen on re-signing Carlton, while the likes of Bradford, Darlington, Bury and Accrington are all weighing up moves for the forward.

Carlton is now set to sit down and consider his options before deciding where to go out on loan.
