Leicester City have signed Manchester United youngster Tom Cleverley on loan until the end of the season.

The midfielder has featured regularly for United's reserve side and first-team manager Sir Alex Ferguson is now keen to allow the opportunity for league football.

Cleverley, who can also play in defence, would find it difficult to break into the United side at present but there are high hopes for the future.

Foxes boss Nigel Pearson has, therefore, pounced upon the opportunity to sign the the 19-year-old as his club go in search of League One promotion.

Cleverley is available for selection for Leicester's clash with Yeovil at Huish Park on Monday, which can be seen live on Sky Sports 1 and HD1.
