Doyle: Leeds move
Leeds United have strengthened their squad by signing Coventry City midfielder Michael Doyle on a season-long loan.
Doyle has spent the past six years with Coventry, but has accepted a move to League One promotion hopefuls Leeds ahead of the opening game of the season against Exeter on Saturday.
Whites boss Simon Grayson is confident the 28-year-old's experience will be a key factor in the club's bid to secure a return to the Championship.
"Micky brings experience, knowledge and quality, and he is a good addition to our squad," Grayson told the club's official website.
"He's played over 200 games in the Championship, captained Coventry, and brings a know-how that I think it will be important to us this season."
Coventry manager Chris Coleman was happy to sanction the move, feeling Doyle will benefit from a change of scenery.
Coleman said: "We talked to Michael last season and said that maybe it was time for a change for both parties.
"I explained to Michael that he wasn't going to figure as much as last season if we got the targets we wanted.
"He has two years left on his contract and he wants to play which we can understand and when the Leeds proposition came about he felt it was good for him and we felt it was good for us."
