Colchester's dream start to their League One season continued as they swept Yeovil aside.

Hard on the heels of their thumping of Norwich, Colchester were two goals to the good as early as the 18th minute thanks to strikes from David Fox and Ashley Vincent.

Ryan Mason pulled a late goal back for the visitors but the Us stay top of the pile.

Charlton also maintained their 100 per cent start to life in the third tier with victory at Hartlepool.

Evergreen Deon Burton and Nick Bailey put the visitors in first-half control as the Latics made it six points from six.

Leeds United also have maximum points after Luciano Becchio's long-range effort gave the Whites victory at Wycombe.

The Argentine striker let fly from outside the box in the 61st minute, giving Scott Shearer in the home goal no chance.

Two goals in the first ten minutes from Jo Kuffour and Danny Coles were enough to earn Bristol Rovers the points at Stockport who rarely threatened throughout.

Huddersfield's new signing Jordan Rhodes scored twice as the Terriers held off Southampton.

The teenage capture from Ipswich followed up his effort against Southend last week to deny the Saints who are still struggling to make inroads into their ten-point penalty. Antony Kay added a late third for the hosts.

Pawel Abbott was on target twice as Oldham won for the first time this season, picking up all three points at the expense of Leyton Orient.

Abbott put the visitors ahead before Ryan Jarvis equalised. Abbott then kept his nerve from the spot to seal things for the Latics in the 59th minute.

Tranmere and Gillingham shared six goals before the hosts ran out 4-2 victors with substitute Terry Gornell on the mark and striker Ian Moore notching a brace.

Veteran frontman Dougie Freedman looked to have netted a late winner for Southend at Walsall only for Sam Parkin's penalty to level things up in the last minute.

Managerless Norwich bounced back from their 7-1 opening day hammering to earn a point at Exeter. Jens Berthel Askou put the Canaries ahead but substitute Richard Logan struck on the hour mark to level things at St James Park.

There was precious little to shout about at Brentford as they held Brighton to a goalless draw. There was a similar scoreline at Millwall who drew a blank with Carlisle while MK Dons also grabbed a point in a 0-0 stalemate at Swindon.
