Skysports.com understands Exeter defender Dan Seaborne has turned down the club's offer of a new contract.

Seaborne, who has been attracting the interest of Norwich, is out of contract at the end of the season and Exeter are keen to tie him down to a new deal.

The 22-year-old has impressed at Exeter over the last few seasons and his performances have attracted interest from other clubs.

Norwich have already had two bids rejected for Seaborne and it is understood they have recently had a third offer snubbed by Exeter.

Exeter are believed to have offered Seaborne a two-year extension to his contract, but the highly-rated central defender has turned down the offer.

Seaborne, who has come through the ranks at St James Park, recently admitted he was not disappointed that the club rejected the overtures from Norwich and was flattered by the interest.

"I wasn't disappointed at all when the club rejected the Norwich fee," Seaborne told the Exeter Express & Echo.

"It was the club's decision and whatever the club does I will stand by because they have never done any injustice to me in the past.

"I think City have got a lot to give. They have given a lot to me already and I have got a lot to give back.

"The manager has done brilliantly for me, all the staff and lads have done brilliantly for me so it's not a problem.

"I just want to keep playing well and that's what I'm going to do and carry on until the end of my contract.

"I'm flattered to be linked to them (Norwich) but I'm an Exeter City player at the moment and I want to do well for this club.

"But if I do stay here or move on to another club then I want to use that club as a stepping stone. That's no disrespect to Exeter or any other club, I have always said that I would use any club to go on to bigger and better things."
