Wilson: Impressed
Swindon Town boss Danny Wilson has applauded the impact that debutant Charlie Austin made on his side at the weekend.
The former Poole Town striker wasted no time in opening his account for the Robins, scoring the only goal of the game after just three minutes against Carlisle United.
Wilson was delighted to see the 20-year-old make an immediate impression, but insists he always felt the youngster was first-team material.
"He has done very well in a short space of time and to score so quickly on his debut was a dream come true from his point of view," Wilson told skysports.com.
"He did well in the reserves, scoring goals along the way, so we were confident that he would do well and he proved us right on Saturday."
The Robins now face in-form Huddersfield Town on Tuesday, who have scored an impressive 18 goals in their last three outings, and Wilson is well aware that his side will need to be solid at the back if they are to get anything from the tie.
"We will need to be on the top of our game defensively because they certainly are free-scoring at the moment," he added.
"They've scored a lot of goals this season and they are bang in-form, with five straight victories, so in that respect it is going to be a real big test for us, but one that we will relish.
"The incentive from our point of view is that if we can get the win then it puts us within touching distance of them, so there is a lot to play for on both sides of the fence."
