Brentford winger Myles Weston has signed a one-year extension to his contract at Griffin Park.

The 21-year-old, who joined the Bees from Notts County last summer, has agreed a deal which will see him remain at the League One club until the end of the 2011/12 season.

Speaking upon the deal, Brentford manager Andy Scott said: "It is a reward for the extremely positive start he has made to his Brentford career.

"I have been delighted with his input and improvement during the comparatively short time he has been with us and have every reason to believe he will improve still further, add to his goal tally and continue to be a force for Brentford."

Weston took his season's goal tally to nine on Saturday after scoring twice in Brentford's 4-0 victory over Gillingham.

Meanwhile, Bees defender Tommy Smith, who is currently on loan from Ipswich, has been provisionally called up to the New Zealand squad for next month's friendly with Mexico in Los Angeles.
