Carlisle United's on-loan striker Darryl Duffy looks set to be sidelined for around a month after tearing his hamstring.

The Scotsman, on loan from Bristol Rovers until the end of the season, first picked up the injury against Huddersfield Town over a month ago, but aggravated it during the first-half of Saturday's goalless draw at Wycombe.

The injury will keep the 25-year-old out for three weeks, but he told skysports.com that the spell on the sidelines will allow him to come back a stronger player after struggling with the injury for the past three games.

"I've torn my hamstring, with a small tear appearing at the top, which is obviously bad news because I need to rest it for a while before I can start looking for a return to action," he conceded.

"It looks like I'll be out for three weeks, but due to the fact that I'm ineligible for both the trip to Wembley and the league game against Bristol Rovers after that means it will be closer to five weeks before I'm playing again.

"I was enjoying my football again, but I've been playing with the injury since we lost to Huddersfield in mid-February, so it was frustrating to be playing with a torn hamstring for the games since then.

"It wasn't very comfortable and I've been playing at half pace for the past three games, but now I've got the chance to let it heal.

"I'm just looking forward to returning at 100%. Hamstrings can be difficult injuries sometimes, so it is important that I let it fully recover before returning to action."
