Darryl Duffy is unsure where his long-term future lies after impressing during his loan spell at Carlisle.

The Scottish forward, currently sidelined with a hamstring injury, has notched once in seven starts since joining on loan from Bristol Rovers.

However, with the summer drawing in, the 25-year-old has told skysports.com that he still does not know where he will be playing next season.

"Neither club has mentioned the possibility of turning it into a permanent move, so at the moment it is just a loan which will see me return to Bristol Rovers in the summer.

"We will wait to see what Rovers say when I return though because at the end of the day it is up to them whether I stay there or move on."

The former Hull City man was already ineligible for the Cumbrians' trip to Wembley, in the Johnstone's Paint Trophy final, having featured in the competition for the Pirates, but he still hopes to be involved on the big day.

"I'm still going to go down with the boys to Wembley and soak in the occasion," he explained.

"They are trying to get me a place on the bench sorted as well, so that I can be in the thick of things, which would be great.

"I'd love to be part of it because I knew I wouldn't be able to play in it ever since I joined, so the injury doesn't change that, but hopefully I can join in with the boys."
