First face second in League One on Saturday as table-topping Sheffield Wednesday host high-flying Carlisle.

Elsewhere, Oldham and Colchester put their unbeaten records on the line and Swindon go in search of a first victory of the season against managerless Southampton.

The pick of the third tier fixtures this weekend is undoubtedly Sheffield Wednesday's home date with Carlisle, as both sides have burst out of the blocks and occupy the top two spots in the division.

Oldham are another side well-placed among the early pacesetters and will be looking to stretch their unbeaten run to six games when they travel to Peterborough, the side directly below them in the standings.

Colchester are yet to taste defeat in the league so far and will want to maintain that momentum when they welcome out-of-sorts Plymouth to the Weston Homes Community Stadium.

Southampton will once again be under the caretaker charge of Dean Wilkins when they head to last season's beaten play-off finalists Swindon, who have yet to record a win this season and sit rock-bottom.

Much-fancied Charlton have suffered back-to-back defeats of late and will see their resolve tested once again when free-scoring Notts County arrive in the capital.

Tricky trip

Bournemouth have adapted to life in League One with consummate ease and they will face Dagenham & Redbridge on Saturday, one of the sides prompted alongside them last term.

MK Dons have taken three wins from their four outings, but face a tricky trip to the South Coast to take on Brighton this time out.

Huddersfield have yet to find top gear, after much was expected of them in the build-up to the season, but they will fancy their chances against an inconsistent Leyton Orient side.

Bristol Rovers and Brentford have made less then auspicious starts to the 2010/11 campaign and there will be all to play for in their meeting at the Memorial Stadium.

Hartlepool and Exeter have only one win apiece to show for their efforts so far and could do with a welcome morale-boost from their latest fixture.

Rochdale will be gunning for a third straight victory when they entertain Walsall, who are aiming to avoid a third consecutive defeat.

Yeovil are winless since the opening weekend of the season, but Tranmere have fared little better and they could both do with the points at Huish Park.
