Nottingham Forest extended their lead at the top with a 3-1 victory over Swansea.

Rory Fallon (42) fired The Swans ahead, before Forest hit back through James Perch (54), Kris Commons (56) and Junior Agogo (67) in the second half.

Tranmere, who started the day in second, slipped to a 2-0 defeat at Bradford, with Mark Bower (54) and Steven Schumacher (71) on target for The Bantams.

Bristol City failed to take advantage as they were held to a 0-0 draw by Oldham, while fellow high-flyers Carlisle were humbled 5-1 by Crewe.

Ryan Lowe (45, 63 and 90) scored a hat-trick for Crewe, while Luke Varney also helped himself to a brace (42 and 73). Karl Hawley had actually given Carlisle the lead after 24 minutes.

Yeovil moved up to second with a 2-1 victory over Brentford at Griffin Park.

The Glovers took the lead through Terry Skiverton (57), but it was Chris Cohen (88) who proved to be the hero two minutes from time after Jo-Osei Kuffour had levelled for The Bees.

Rotherham missed the chance to climb off the bottom for the first time this season after they were sunk by a late Millwall comeback.

Will Hoskins (30) and Ian Sharps (40) had given Rotherham a two-goal lead, but Daniel Haynes (45) pulled one back from the penalty spot and then equalised four minutes from time.

Alan Dunne then grabbed a winner in the final minute of normal time.

Blackpool recorded only their second victory of the season with a 3-0 win over Leyton Orient at Bloomfield Road.

Andy Morrell (21) broke the deadlock for The Seasiders, before late strikes from Wesley Hoolahan (82) and Keigan Parker (86) added gloss to the scoreline.

Chesterfield picked up three points on their travels with a 2-1 victory at Brighton.

Sam Williams (54) equalised Caleb Folan's opener (20), but Brighton could not come back a second time after Derek Niven (74) struck for The Spireites.

Gillingham were also 2-1 winners, with Matthew Jarvis (27) and Mark Bentley (69) both on form against Cheltenham. Grant McCann (28) netted for The Robins.

Huddersfield and Bournemouth shared four goals at The Galpharm Stadium.

Gary Taylor-Fletcher (27) scored his eighth goal of the season to equalise James Hayter's strike (10), and then Luke Beckett (69) rescued a point for The Terriers after Leon Best had given Bournemouth a 2-1 lead three minutes after half time.

Port Vale put their recent poor form behind them in beating Northampton 2-0.

First half goals from George Pilkington (12) and Stefan Moore (32) secured the points for Martin Foyle's side.

In the day's early kick-off, Scunthorpe extended their unbeaten run to five games with a 2-0 victory over Doncaster at Glanford Park.

Doncaster, who have yet to win under new manager Sean O'Driscoll, fought hard to match their local rivals in the first half.

However, The Iron broke down their resistance after 54 minutes when Billy Sharp slotted a shot into the bottom left corner.

Andrew Keogh doubled Scunthorpe's lead on 68 minutes and the home side held on to continue their rise up the table.
