League One Round-Up

Game of the day in League One proved to be a damp squib as Tranmere and Nottingham Forest played out a 0-0 stalemate at Prenton Park.

Forest remain top of the pile after coming away from their trip to the Wirral with a share of the spoils against Ronnie Moore's second placed Rovers.

The biggest winners in League One were Oldham who continued their fine recent form with a 4-1 defeat of Gillingham at Boundary Park.

Chris Porter cannot stop scoring and he bagged a brace (24 & 90), with Will Haining (4) and Simon Charlton (46) Oldham's other goalscorers. Gillingham's consolation came from a second half Michael Flynn penalty.

Bristol City are another side on the up and they were comfortable at Port Vale as goals from Scott Brown and Phil Jevons stole the spoils.

Ben Williams put through his own goal on the stroke of half-time to help Yeovil to a 2-0 victory over Crewe - with Paul Terry delighting the Huish Park faithful with a second on 76 minutes.

A double from Huddersfield striker Gary Taylor Fletcher (50 & 60) ensured a 2-1 away day win at Swansea, with Leon Knight's consolation proving precisely that.

Carlisle continue to impress as they had far too much for Brighton in a 3-1 home victory. Hot shot Karl Hawley gave his side a sixth minute lead before Kevin Gray on 31 minutes and Simon Hackney eight minutes from time secured the win. Alex Revell netted a late consolation.

Darren Anderton got off the mark for Bournemouth when he struck on 22 minutes, cancelling out Neil MacKenzie's 19th minute opener for Scunthorpe at Dean Court.

Bradford came from behind at Cheltenham to win 2-1 at Whaddon Road, as Kayode Odejayi grabbed the home side's opener on four minutes. A second half collapse did, though, see Bradford claim a win courtesy of goals from David Graham and Jermaine Johnson.

Chesterfield remain a team to watch as they raced to a 3-1 win over Brentford. Caleb Folan (30 & 40) grabbed a double and Paul Shaw (37) the other, while Brentford's solitary response came from Adam Griffiths on the stroke of half time.

Millwall continue to toil as Northampton's Mitchell Cole scored the only at The Den, while Doncaster and Blackpool played out a 0-0 draw.

Leyton Orient fell to a 3-2 home defeat against Rotherham. Scott Wiseman scored The Millers' winner in the 82 minute, while Ian Sharps (20) and Will Hoskins (45) were earlier on target.

Orient had earlier drawn level through Adam Chambers and Justin Miller.
