Scunthorpe boss Nigel Adkins has confirmed that experienced defender Kenny Milne is to leave the club.

The 30-year-old has been plagued by injuries in recent times, preventing him from making an impression at Glanford Park.

His contract is due to run until the end of July, but he will not be offered fresh terms.

The Scottish centre-half is now set to seek specialist help in an effort to get to the bottom of his ongoing knee problems.

His career could now rest in the hands of medical specialists, with Milne aware that his days may be numbered.

He has already undergone two operations during his time with Scunthorpe, with the issue overshadowing his two years with the club.

Over the course of a 13-year career, Milne has also turned out for Hearts, Cowdenbeath, Partick Thistle and Falkirk.
