Skysports.com understands Scunthorpe defender Michael Nelson is a target for a number of clubs on loan.

Nelson has been left out Scunthorpe's side for their last three games alerting clubs to his possible availability.

The 31-year-old joined Scunthorpe from Norwich last January, but was unable to help the club avoid relegation from the Championship.

A host of clubs are believed to be keeping tabs on Nelson's situation at Glanford Park as they explore the possibility of taking him on loan.

It remains to be seen if Iron boss Alan Knill would be willing to loan out Nelson with Scunthorpe still seeking their first win of the campaign.
