Skysports.com understands that Bury and Scunthorpe United have both made moves to land Peterborough's Nicky Ajose.

Ajose joined the Posh in the summer from Manchester United, after they beat a host of clubs to his signature.

The 19-year-old had spent the previous campaign on loan at Bury, where he played a major part in their promotion with 13 goals.

However, his London Road career has not gone according to plan thus far - just 27-minutes into his debut he pulled his hamstring, and he has only now returned to fitness.

Peterborough are now ready to let him go on loan and a number of clubs are pursuing him.

Bury, where he shone last term, are keen to take him back to Gigg Lane but Alan Knill, who signed him whilst in charge of the Shakers but is now at Scunthorpe, is also keen.
