Sat 4th Oct - Bramall Lane
Bristol City remain on course for automatic promotion despite a goalless draw at home to play-off hopefuls Swansea.
Neil Harris's 53rd minute winner for Millwall in their 1-0 victory over Nottingham Forest ensured Gary Johnson's team extended their lead over third place to five points.
Cheltenham secured a vital 2-0 win at Brentford through Stephen Gillespie (8) and J.J. Melligan (47). Defeat means The Bees are now 12 points adrift of safety and could be relegated to League Two on Easter Monday.
Hope springs eternal for Rotherham. Marc Newsham's 86th minute winner over Gillingham gave manager Mark Robins a debut win.
Delroy Facey had given The Millers the lead just seven minutes in but Felix Bastians (21) and Andrew Crofts (24) turned the match on its head.
Chris O'Grady equalised for the home side a quarter of an hour from time before Newsham's late show.
Bradford also struck late through Spencer Weir-Daley (90) to take a 1-1 draw from Bournemouth who had been handed the lead by David McGoldrick (61). David Wetherall's team have fallen four points from safety however.
Chesterfield sealed a much-needed three points with a 2-1 home win over Crewe. Shaun Miller gave Alex the lead eight minutes in but the relegation-threatened hosts claimed the win through Aaron Downes (29) and Paul Shaw (67).
Blackpool beat nine-man Tranmere 3-2 to help consolidate their play-off claims and surely end the visitors' play-off hopes. Keigan Parker (9), Wesley Hoolahan (36) and Andy Morrell (73) scored for the hosts.
Calvin Zola Makongo replied for the visitors with a brace (29 and 46) and it was 2-2 when Rovers were reduced in number. John Mullin and Jason McAteer saw red within a minute of each other midway through the second half.
Carlisle continue to have play-off aspirations following a 2-0 win at Port Vale secured by Danny Graham (27) and Joe Garner (90). United ended the game with 10 men following Luke Joyce's dismissal for two bookable offences.
Luke Beckett (78) claimed an equaliser for Huddersfield on his return to Oldham in a 1-1 draw at Boundary Park. Chris Porter had given the hosts the lead 23 minutes in.
Simon Cox (12) and an own goal from Aiden Palmer (40) gave Northampton a 2-0 win at Leyton Orient, while Doncaster were also 2-0 away winners over Brighton courtesy of goals from Graeme Lee (28) and Danny Cadamarteri (47).
