Skysports.com understands Lewin Nyatanga is holding talks with Bristol City after Derby County accepted an offer.

Nyatanga looks set to be on his way out of Pride Park due to the increased competition for places in the Rams' defence.

Jake Buxton has already joined Derby, while Patrick Kisnorbo is on trial and manager Nigel Clough is hoping to sign Shaun Barker from Blackpool.

Championship rivals City have now made a move for the Wales international and have had their bid accepted by Derby.

The 20-year-old is now travelling down to Ashton Gate to discuss terms with the Robins and undergo a medical.

He has made 76 appearances during his Rams career and has also undertaken loan spells at Sunderland and Barnsley.
