Bothroyd: Five league goals this season
Queens Park Rangers fought back from two goals down to draw, Cardiff City made it three wins in a row while Ipswich Town also continued their promising start to the 2010/11 season.
QPR's bright beginning to the term looked set to hit the buffers at Derby County only for Patrick Agyemang and Jamie Mackie to score in the dying moments and snatch a dramatic point as the game finished 2-2.
Cardiff City recorded a third victory on the spin, with Hayden Mullins netting an own goal and Jay Bothroyd striking, to ensure that Portsmouth's winless start to the campaign goes on.
Ipswich Town made it 10 points from a possible 12 as Tamas Priskin and Jason Scotland, making his league debut for the Tractor Boys, struck against struggling Bristol City.
A brace from Jonathan Forte helped Scunthorpe United return to winning ways against Crystal Palace, for whom it was a disappointing league debut for Edgar Davids, with the scoreline finishing 3-0 in favour of the former.
Leeds United made it back-to-back Championship victories as Richard Naylor's sixth minute strike proved enough for Simon Grayson's side at Watford.
Burnley lost for the first time this league campaign as Swansea City's Scott Sinclair scored the only goal in a game that saw Darren Pratley sent and Tyrone Mears sent off.
Millwall bounced back from last weekend's loss against Leeds as they downed Coventry City, who had Carl Baker sent off, 3-1 at the New Den.
Gary Speed earned his first win as Sheffield United manager thanks to John Calve's goal with 16 minutes remaining versus Preston North End.
Hull City's away day misery was extended as Doncaster Rovers sealed a 3-1 win at the Keepmoat Stadium courtesy of goals from Martin Woods, Billy Sharp and James Coppinger.
Goals from Jason Shackell and Adam Hammill were enough for Barnsley to ensure they saw off Gordon Strachan's Middlesbrough at Oakwell.
Nottingham Forest were held for a third straight Championship fixture after Dexter Blackstock's penalty was cancelled out by Norwich City's Andrew Crofts.
