Weimann: Villa double
Aston Villa beat Walsall in their latest pre-season friendly but Fulham were held and there were defeats for Blackpool, West Brom, Stoke and Wolves.
Fulham ended their tour of Sweden with a goalless draw against Malmo FF, with Danny Murphy missing a penalty.
The midfielder fired wide from the spot in the fifth minute after Guillermo Molins was penalised for holding back Bobby Zamora.
Zamora also headed just wide, while at the other end David Stockdale saved well from Mollins as a sharp Malmo side created several chances.
Aston Villa continued their preparations for the new season by edging out Walsall 2-1.
Andrea Weimann broke the deadlock after good work by John Carew and then doubled Villa's advantage.
Alex Nicholls pulled a goal back for the Saddlers but Villa held on for victory.
Reading ensured Kevin Doyle made a losing return to the Madejski Stadium as they beat Wolves 2-1.

Chris Porter's first-half strike was enough to earn Derby a 1-0 victory over Stoke at Pride Park.
Porter was on hand to head home Kris Commons' cross in the eighth minute, while Tuncay Sanli came closest to an equaliser for Stoke.
Argentine striker Luciano Becchio netted twice as Leeds eased to a 3-1 victory over SK Brann.
Goals from Martin Devaney and Goran Lovre earned Barnsley a 2-0 victory over Sheffield Wednesday in a pre-season friendly at Oakwell.

Shrewsbury earned a goalless draw with Coventry, as Scunthorpe went down to a surprise 1-0 defeat at York.
Millwall proved too strong for Dartford with a 2-0 triumph, while Brentford thumped Woking 4-0.
Chesterfield recorded a 2-0 win away to Tamworth, and Northampton were also 2-0 winners on the road against Nuneaton.
Bury cruised to a 3-0 victory over an inexperienced Rochdale side at Gigg Lane, while Swindon beat Cirencester Town 2-1.
Macclesfield beat Altrincham 2-1 and Colchester overcame Cambridge United 1-0, but Rotherham suffered a 2-0 defeat against Alfreton Town.
Hartlepool also lost 2-1 to Garforth Town, Port Vale were beaten 1-0 by Aberdeen, while Burton ran out 1-0 winners against Solihull.
