Billy Clarke is grateful to Blackpool manager Ian Holloway for sticking by him throughout his injury nightmare.

The 23-year-old suffered a ruptured cruciate ligament during the Seasiders' pre-season programme last summer.

The injury kept him sidelined for the entire 2010/11 campaign, preventing him from turning out in the Premier League.

It has been a long road back for the former Ipswich forward, but he has now returned to full match fitness.

He has started Blackpool's last two games and is slowly easing his way back into form.

Clarke has paid tribute to Holloway for keeping faith in him, with it is intention to repay his boss with performances on the field.

He said: "I spoke to the manager last week and he said that I need to keep thinking of how I felt when I was injured to now, whether I'm playing or not.

"I'm grateful that he's had faith in me.

"I just have to focus on this season because it's just nice to be back in the swing of things. Hopefully I can play a lot of games this season."
