Taylor-Fletcher: Holding out for a better contract with Blackpool after an impressive start to the term
Blackpool striker Gary Taylor-Fletcher has revealed he may leave Bloomfield Road when his deal expires at the end of the present term.
Taylor-Fletcher, 30, has played in all four professional divisions in England and has started the Tangerines' assault on the Championship title in positive fashion.
But his form has yet to be rewarded with a new deal despite his present one dwindling down.
"It has been a bit difficult to concentrate on the football with the contract issue hanging over me," he told the Blackpool Gazette.
"At the moment nothing is happening. I want to stay here but I just want what I think I deserve.
""I am very hopeful it can be resolved because I'm not asking for the world - I'm not asking for as much as the top earners are on."
Gary Taylor-Fletcher Quotes of the week
"I am one of the main players, I think, and I want to be up there with the rest of them.
"I am very hopeful it can be resolved because I'm not asking for the world - I'm not asking for as much as the top earners are on.
"I just want to be up there, or just below, which I think I deserve to be."
The former roofer progressed through the game from the ranks of the non-league and after four years at the club, now feels established in the higher echelon of players at Blackpool.
He added: "I've been a regular for four years since I've been here. I've always been one of the lesser players compared to others, but this year I think I've come on leaps and bounds."
