Webber: Close to finding a new club
Danny Webber insists he is close to sorting out his future, with Middlesbrough reportedly leading the chase for his signature.
The former Sheffield United striker is yet to find a new club after leaving Bramall Lane at the end of last season.
The 27-year-old has also attracted interest from the likes of Crystal Palace and Swansea but he states that he will not be rushed into making a decision.
Webber has proven pedigree in the Championship with 44 goals from 185 games during his time at both Watford and Sheffield United.
"I don't think it will be long until everything is finalised and I join a new club," he told skysports.com.
"It's a case of waiting for certain clubs to move players out and then when that is done it makes my decision a little different, but I'm confident of getting something sorted within the next few weeks.
"Talks have been good, but the clubs that are interesting me the most need to get rid of some of their current squad first before they can introduce new signings, so hopefully there will be a bit of movement in the next week or so and things can get sorted."
Webber has remained calm throughout the summer and has even turned clubs down in the hope that a better offer would come along.
"I've been to certain clubs that have offered me contracts, but it just didn't feel right for me for one reason or another," he added.
"I'm 27 now, going into the prime of my career, so waiting one week longer to make sure I join the right club isn't too long in the grand scheme of things.
"I'm confident in my ability and I know what I can bring to the table, so it's important I don't rush into things."
