Bessone: Returned to the Swans

Swansea City have bolstered their defensive options with the signing of Fede Bessone on a free transfer, subject to Premier League clearance.

The 27-year-old has returned to the Premier League new-boys after agreeing to cancel his contract with Leeds.

Bessone has signed a two-year-deal at the Liberty Stadium to boost Brendan Rodgers' left-back options following Alan Tate's injury setback.

Bessone, who originally joined Swansea from Espanyol in June 2008 before leaving for Elland Road on a free transfer last summer, is delighted to return to the club.

He told Swansea's official website: "I can't express how pleased I am to be back here.

"When the call came from Swansea, I was so excited. I just got into my car and drove straight down because I have such a good feeling for the club and I had a fantastic time here."
Fede Bessone Quotes of the week

"When the call came from Swansea, I was so excited. I just got into my car and drove straight down because I have such a good feeling for the club and I had a fantastic time here.

"The people have always been so nice to me, and now I'm back as part of the family makes me feel so happy."

Frustrated

Bessone is looking forward to getting his career back on track at Swansea after dropping down the pecking order at Leeds.

He added: "I was quite frustrated at Leeds because I was told I was the fourth choice left-back by the Leeds manager (Simon Grayson) the day before the season started.

"I just thought to myself 'I want to go home.'

"But the interest came from Swansea and I agreed to cancel my contract with Leeds today so I could complete my move.

"I'm ready to help the club. I won't say I will be challenging Neil (Taylor) for his place - I just want to help the club by doing my best in training and on the pitch."
