Allen: Battling against Emmanuel Frimpong on his Premier League debut
Joe Allen believes Swansea are on the verge of claiming their first Premier League win of the season against West Brom.
Brendan Rodgers' outfit have secured two draws from their opening four games, which under normal circumstances would represent a decent start to their campaign for a newly-promoted team.
But the pressure on the Swans is already mounting to glean their first win of the term, and their cause is being hampered by a defensive crisis.
Alan Tate, Steven Caulker and Kemy Agustien are all injured but despite this Allen believes they can end this fixture with three points.
"Every game is tough, there is no game you can put down as a nailed on win, but in camp we hope we can get that bit of luck we are due and get that first goal and first win," he said.
"Every bit of news we get at the moment seems to be bad, but there are always disappointments in football and I am sure we will balance them out with some highs."
Allen made his first start of the season at the Emirates last weekend and is poised to retain his place in the team and become a regular fixture.
"Saturday was my first start, which I have been looking forward to and the Emirates was not a bad place to make it," he added.
"There might be an opportunity for me to try and keep my place in the team and I am looking forward to a few more starts."
