Leyton Orient moved top of League Two with a win over Oxford United, as previous leaders Wycombe Wanderers were held by Peterborough United.

A goal on the stroke of half time from Craig Easton was enough to lift Orient to the summit as they overcame Oxford at home.

Wycombe had to come from two goals down to secure a 2-2 draw at home to Peterborough.

Danny Crow and Trevor Benjamin had put the visitors in a strong position at half time, before Roger Johnson pulled one back on 74 minutes.

John Gorman's men gained a point on 80 minutes through Clint Easton's equaliser but they still relinquished top spot.

Promotion hopefuls Northampton Town and Grimsby Town shared a 0-0 draw at Sixfields.

Macclesfield Town climbed off the foot of League Two after gaining a battling 2-1 win at home to Bristol Rovers.

Clyde Wijnhard opened the scoring on 52 minutes before the visitors levelled three minutes later through Craig Disley. Paul Harsley grabbed the winner with 25 minutes left.

Torquay United are now at the foot of The Football League after losing 2-0 to Boston United.

Ian Ross, fresh from rejoining the club on loan, scored the first on 21 minutes and Julian Joachim sealed the win for the hosts just past the hour mark.

Mansfield Town also picked up a much-needed three points as they prevailed 2-0 at Cheltenham Town as both sides had a player sent off late on.

Richie Barker netted first for the visitors on 29 minutes before Simon Brown added the second on 68 minutes.

In injury time, Cheltenham had Gary Bradshaw sent off, while the visitors' Gareth Jelleyman was also dismissed.

Carlisle United ran riot at home to Stockport County as they crushed the demoralised visitors 6-0.

Karl Hawley, who finished with a hat-trick, notched the first on 12 minutes before Derek Holmes netted on 36 minutes. An own goal from Stockport goalkeeper Carl Ikeme, and another from Holmes, gave Carlisle a 4-0 lead at the break.

In the second half, Hawley scored on 77 minutes and, five minutes later, rounded off his treble.

A Glyn Hurst hat-trick helped Notts County to a 3-2 win at Bury as the visitors withstood a home fightback.

Hurst scored on 35, 45 and 57 minutes before Tom Kennedy's penalty just before the hour brought Bury back in to the game. Simon Whaley scored with nine minutes left but Bury could not find an equaliser.

Shrewsbury Town started strongly as they won 3-1 at home to Chester City, with Colin McMenamin and Mark Stallard scoring inside the opening eight minutes.

Chester's Ryan Lowe scored against his former club on 35 minutes before Shrewsbury substitute Kelvin Langmead, who had replaced Stallard, netted on 58 minutes.

Lee McEvilly's 89th minute penalty was enough to give Wrexham a 1-0 win at home to Darlington.

Lincoln City won 2-1 at Rochdale, who had Gareth Griffiths sent off on 31 minutes. Prior to that Marvin Robinson had given the visitors the lead on 15 minutes.

Nat Brown scored the second on 36 minutes before Rochdale grabbed a consolation through Ernie Cooksey on 54 minutes.
