Carlisle United are six points clear at the top of the League Two table after defeating second placed Grimsby 1-0.
Over 10,000 people were at Brunton Park to see The Cumbrians double their lead at the top.
The only goal came just moments into the second period when Michael Bridges struck.
Northampton remain in third as they failed to take advantage of Grimsby's loss as they threw away a two-goal lead at home to Rochdale - in an early kick-off at Sixfields.
The Cobblers looked well placed for victory after just six minutes when Josh Low fired home.
Scott McGleish then added another ten minutes before the interval to double his side's advantage
Dale struck back when Rickie Lambert pulled one back just after the interval and the classy forward grabbed a last-gasp leveller from the penalty spot.
Leyton Orient are now level with Northampton and just a point off Grimsby after they beat Boston 2-0 at Brisbane Road.
Both goals came in the second half as Matt Lockwood (51 pen) and Paul Connor (89) struck.
Wycombe and Cheltenham remain fifth and sixth respectively, but both failed to win.
The Chairboys went down 2-1 at Macclesfield. Goals from Paul Harsley (39 pen) and Danny Whitaker (53) were enough for the Cheshire outfit, as Wycombe could only muster a late goal from Russell Martin.
It was a six-goal thriller for Cheltenham who came from behind, before conceding a late equaliser.
Kayode Odejayi (12) put The Robins ahead, before Mark Robinson (34 pen) and Keith Briggs (56) turned it around for Stockport.
Brian Wilson then levelled just after the hour before Grant McCann looked to have scored the winner from the penalty spot with just two minutes left, but Stockport's scoring gem Liam Dickinson pounced in injury time to steal a share of the spoils for the visitors.
Lincoln's play-off hopes suffered a blow at Sincil Bank as they could only draw 1-1 with Mansfield.
Francis Green had given them the lead on 53 minutes, but Alan Russell levelled in the final minute for The Stages.
Darlington are really back in the play-off mix after a 2-1 win at Torquay - whose survival hopes have taken a huge blow.
Kevin Hill put Torquay ahead on 37 minutes, but The Quakers made their long trip worthwhile with second half strikes from Akpo Sodje (66) and Neil Wainwright (89) gave David Hodgson's men victory.
The day could not have gone much worse for Torquay as of the four sides who started off the day ahead of them - three won.
Rushden claimed victory at Bristol Rovers thanks to Drewe Broughton's goal ten minutes from time - and although they remain second from bottom, they are now within two points of Rochdale, who are 17th.
Barnet moved up one to fourth bottom as they claimed a 2-1 win over Notts County at Underhill.
Steve Scoffham (46) gave the visitors the lead, before two Ian Hendon (64 & 72) penalties were enough for The Bees.
Stockport, after their draw with Cheltenham drop to third bottom, and both Bury and Oxford fall down to 19th and 20th respectively after their results.
Oxford could only have themselves to blame as they allowed Chester to climb above them as they claimed a 1-0 win at The Kassam Stadium thanks to Derek Asamoah's (19) goal.
Bury were well beaten at home by seventh placed Peterborough.
Top-scorer Danny Crow struck the first on the stroke of half time, before Adam Newton (62) doubled their lead.
Tom Kennedy pulled one back for Bury, but Crow made sure of the win in the final minute.
