Tranmere Rovers striker Ian Moore has signed a new two-year contract to stay at Prenton Park.

Moore rejoined his first club in January 2008 from Hartlepool United and scored 11 goals for Rovers last season.

He has relished his stint back at Tranmere and is hoping to help the club to mount a promotion push in the coming campaign.

"I've really enjoyed my time back at Tranmere and am happy to have signed a new contract at the club," Moore told the club's official website.

"I'm looking forward to the new season and hopefully we will push for promotion."

The 32-year-old becomes the first player to commit his future to Rovers since John Barnes took charge and the new manager is delighted to be keeping the experienced front man.

Barnes said: "I'm delighted Ian has decided to stay at the club.

"He is a very experienced player who is a proven goalscorer. I look forward to working with him, and the rest of the squad, in pre-season training."
