Horlock blow for Rovers

Doncaster Rovers midfielder Kevin Horlock will be forced to the sidelines for the next four months after learning he requires further surgery on a knee injury.

The veteran midfielder is to go under the knife for the second time in as many months after tests revealed a micro-fracture.

Horlock has endured ill-luck since arriving at Belle Vue in the summer on a free transfer from Ipswich, having first picked up the injury against Crewe in early August.

It was initially thought the 33-year-old would only need to miss one game, but further probing unearthed the need for an operation to trim his cartilage.

Although this initial operation was expected to clear up the complaint, it has now been decided that Horlock will have to undergo a second - more serious - procedure.
