Kevin Horlock and James Coppinger are set to miss the start of the season for Doncaster.

34-year-old midfielder Horlock (pictured) was restricted to just two appearances last term due to a serious knee problem.

And his bad luck with injuries has continued after dislocating his shoulder and being told he will be sidelined for a further three months.

Coppinger has had surgery on a long-standing groin problem after being hampered throughout last season.

The attack-minded midfielder is expected to be out of action for between four and six weeks, meaning he will miss all of Rovers' pre-season friendlies.

It is doubtful whether he will be fully fit for the season opener against Millwall on 11th August.

Long-term injury victims Mark McCammon, Paul Heffernan, Ben Smith and Gareth Roberts will all start pre-season training.
