Crewe manager Dario Gradi insists he will not panic despite the Railwaymen lying rock bottom of the League Two table after four games.

The Alex are the only club in the division yet to pick up a point after suffering defeats at the hands of Swindon, Gillingham, Rotherham and Shrewsbury.

Gradi told Crewe's official website: "We have not had much luck but are not kidding ourselves either. We have only played four games so there will be no-one panicking and we will do what we always do and that is to get out there and work hard on improving.

"We are a coaching club here and the players work hard every day to get better. The players understandably feel a bit hard done by because they should have something to show for their efforts. The football has been good and I have faith in this group of players.

"It is a tough league and is getting tougher and I would like more strength in depth but we have played some good football so far and just need to improve in certain areas.

"If I thought we were awful and didn't know where to go with them then I would say, but we haven't been awful and the performance against Rotherham was of a very high standard for this level."
