Crewe boss Dario Gradi has told his side they can do better - despite seeing them lose just one of their last six games.

The Railwaymen drew 1-1 with rivals Port Vale on Saturday to make it 13 points from a possible 18, but Gradi insists more improvement is needed if the club is to achieve a play-off place.

"The players have been doing okay of late and we have picked up some points but I have not been totally satisfied with the way we have been playing," Gradi told the club's official website. "They can all do better.

"We got a point against Port Vale at the weekend and played okay. We were certainly not brilliant but we were not poor either.

"I thought Westy [Ashley Westwood] was the pick of the bunch for us, and for the rest of them there is room for improvement in their performances from Saturday.

"The pre-season suggested we would have started better than we did, so there is room for improvement. If there wasn't we would be flying high at the top of the league and that is why we come in and work all week."
