After suffering relegation to League One, Gillingham have begun to streamline their squad by releasing Jones Awuah, Dean Beckwith and Matt Bodkin.

The trio will now be free to search for new clubs after being told they have no future at The Priestfield Stadium.

New boss Neale Cooper (pictured), who replaced Stan Ternent after the final game of the season, has moved to reshape the squad as he sees fit by disposing of the marginal performers.

Ghanaian striker Awuah leaves after making just four appearances for the side after coming through the youth ranks.

Beckwith, who spent a spell on loan at Margate Town in September, also rose through the ranks but now departs with just one senior appearance to his name.

Bodkin joined last summer from Nottingham Forest, although failed to make an impact on the first team as he played just three times.
