Adams: Buoyed by goal threat
Port Vale boss Micky Adams reckons they have resolved last season's attacking problems following their 3-1 win over Barnet.
Fine first-half goals from Sean Rigg and Gary Roberts at Underhill put the visitors in control before Rigg put the result beyond doubt with his second shortly after the break.
Jason Price scored a consolation for the Bees but it did not prevent Adams celebrating his side's first win of the season.
He said: "We were flooding forward and looked a yard sharper than them. You look at the quality of the goals on show and they were excellent.
"We're disappointed to concede one but that's just me picking the bones out of it. Maybe we should have defended better but our problem last year was that we defended well as a unit but didn't score enough goals. You can't say that after our three goals.
"It's been a good first week. With the greatest respect to Barnet we will have tougher tests for sure but it was important to get that first win to give us momentum and confidence going forward and hopefully we will take that on."
