Port Vale boss Micky Adams had words of consolation for Phil Parkinson after Tom Pope's last-gasp winner against Bradford.

The visitors came from behind twice in Tuesday night's League Two clash at Vale Park and looked the most likely victors for much of the second half, until Vale fan Pope buried an unstoppable header to decide the game in the 93rd minute.

Adams was delighted with a victory which pushed Vale up to third place, but he conceded: "I'm sure Phil feels his side should have got something from the game. Bradford had a real go and it's a great three points for us.

"We felt sick when we conceded a last-minute winner at Wimbledon recently, but these things tend to even themselves out over the season and on this occasion it has gone our way.

"The game had everything but it was a little bit too end-to-end for my liking. We started and ended the game well, but we had to weather a storm at times and I can only praise my players for the way they stuck at it.

"Fair credit to Bradford because I think some opponents might have crumbled after the way we started the game. Phil has made his mark on their football club already and if I was a betting man I would say they will be there or thereabouts at the end of the season."
