Port Vale chief executive Perry Deakin has declared his candidacy to become a director at the League Two club.
Deakin has been in his current role with the League Two outfit for four months and has pledged an investment of £100,000 into the club if he receives the necessary approval from the shareholders.
He told the club's official website: "I strongly believe that we are heading in the right direction and am investing my own money into the club to underline that belief."
The Valiants announced a deal with Blue Sky International last week which will see £5million invested into the club over the course of the next 12 months.
"The investment from Blue Sky International was a significant step towards change for Port Vale Football Club," he added.
"Although I have only been involved in Port Vale for a relatively short space of time, this club has the potential to become a major player in the Football League and I am passionate about being a part of positive change here."
