Torquay United boss Leroy Rosenior has taken Huddersfield Town defender Anthony Lloyd on a month's loan.
The 21-year-old joins the League Two bottom club with a view to a permanent move after failing to make a proper breakthrough into Peter Jackson's first team.
The former Huddersfield trainee has made just one first team appearance for The Terriers this season - that coming in the LDV Vans Trophy defeat at Boston United.
Lloyd joins The Gulls in time for Saturday's FA Cup first round tie with Conference North club Harrogate Town.
The defender arrives in South Devon after Huddersfield striker John McAliskey was recalled from his loan with Torquay to act as cover for the departed Junior Mendes, who recently joined Northampton Town on loan.
