Swindon manager Danny Wilson has expressed his disappointment after missing out on Theo Robinson in the summer.

Wilson says the Robins were convinced Robinson was set to join them from Watford in June, but the striker opted for a move to Tuesday night's opponents Huddersfield instead.

"We were 100% sure he was going to be our player, but how wrong can you be?," he told the Swindon Advertiser. "Everything was in our favour and there were agreements all the way round, so there was nothing to worry about.

"We did think we had him. We had an agreement with Watford, we had an agreement with the player and the agent, and then not to have him was very disappointing - a big let down.

"We were disappointed with Watford because we had an agreement with them that they wouldn't talk to any other football clubs with regards to him, but that wasn't how it was dealt with.

"He phoned me to apologise and fair play to the boy. It does happen and it gets you a bit frustrated but I've been through it before. It wasn't the first time and it won't be the last time it will happen."
