FA Cup: Third round awaits
The quest for FA Cup glory continues this weekend with lucrative places in the third round of the competition up for grabs.
League One high-flyers Huddersfield Town will fancy their chances of bumping off Port Vale, who have won only won once in their last six league outings. The Terriers are fifth in League One despite losing at Swindon on Tuesday.
Southampton put their league issues to one side when they take on last year's relegated outfit Northampton at Sixfields. The Saints beat Hartlepool in midweek while Northampton are 18th in League Two.
Millwall will put their faltering League One promotion campaign on hold when they tackle Conference South side Staines Town. The Lions are without a win in three in league action.
The FA Cup comes as welcome relief for Stockport, who have lost seven on the bounce in League One. The Hatters entertain Torquay United at Edgeley Park. The Seagulls are third from bottom in League Two.
Only Tranmere are below Stockport in League One and they will be hoping to secure back-to-back wins against Aldershot and build on their midweek success over Southend. Shots are just outside the League Two play-off picture.
In-form Swindon Town will be the favourites to knock-off Conference side Wrexham, despite the match being played at the Racecourse Ground. The Robins have won three on the bounce in League One.
Conference leaders Oxford United have an excellent chance of making the third round as they entertain follow non-leaguers Barrow. The teams ironically met last weekend with Oxford claiming a 1-0 win.
League Two strugglers Lincoln City will start as favourites to get the better of Northwich, while Rotherham clash with former Football League outfit Luton.
