Huddersfield manager Lee Clark refused to blame Lee Novak for his 87th-minute penalty miss in the 1-1 draw against 10-man MK Dons.

Dons skipper Dean Lewington had cancelled out Scott Arfield's first-half opener before Novak's late spot-kick was saved by David Martin, after Gary MacKenzie had seen red for violent conduct.

Clark said: "We're a little disappointed because we got a penalty at the end, which was a great opportunity, and also the way we were so dominant in the first half with the chances we created.

"I'm really disappointed with the goal we gave away from a set-play but I still thought for the last 15 or 20 minutes of the second half we regained control again and started creating more opportunities.

"I'm not disappointed with the lads' performance, I'm just disappointed that they didn't get what they deserve and that's probably all three points.

"Lee is the designated taker and you miss them - there's thousands who have missed before him and there will be thousands who miss after him. He's obviously a bit disappointed but I've told him not to be downhearted because his performances are fantastic."
