Leyton Orient boss Russell Slade has defended his goalkeeper after a clash left Chesterfield's Jack Lester with a suspected broken arm.

The Spireites could be without Lester for up to three months after he suffered a suspected broken arm near the end of the goalless draw.

Lester was injured in the 82nd minute when he collided with Butcher and referee Gary Sutton angered the home camp by awarding a free-kick against the frontman.

Chesterfield manager John Sheridan was clearly annoyed with the decision, but Slade said: "I feel sorry for Jack but in my eyes it certainly didn't look like a penalty.

"I thought it was two players going for the ball."
